We are delighted to announce that Claudia Gorbman (University of Washington) will also deliver a keynote address at our conference. Professor Gorbman’s  seminal text Unheard Melodies: Narrative Film Music (1987) contributed to the founding of film music studies and she will speak on “Musical Moment, Crystal-Song, Rich Song.”
Her talk will complete the keynotes already confirmed by Amy Herzog (Queens College, New York), Rajinder Dudrah (Birmingham City University), and Richard Dyer (King’s College, London).

4th July 2017:
We have now selected over 100 papers from a pool of outstanding submissions to create 27 thematic panels for our conference! We hope that by now all of you have heard back from us. If not, please get in touch with us: salzburgconference2018@sbg.ac.at (also consider checking your spam email).
A preliminary conference program will follow in the fall 2017, a schedule overview is already out!

2nd May 2017:
Our call for papers just closed and we are delighted to announce that we received an overwhelming number of proposals! Thanks to everyone who submitted their work and we are excited to start putting together the program!

25th April 2017:
The deadline for abstract submissions is approaching. Please send your proposals to aniela.buzatu@sbg.ac.at by Sunday, 30th April!

22th March 2017:
We are delighted to announce our third keynote speaker: Rajinder Dudrah from Birmingham City University will also deliver a keynote talk at our conference next year!
